New Brunswick College of Craft and Design

The New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD) is unique in Canada, offering diploma programs that emphasize excellence in the conceptualization and creation of fine craft and applied design with an entrepreneurial focus.

Students hone their skills in Foundation Visual Arts (FVA), learning 2D/3D design theory, drawing, colour theory, art history, communications and the creative process as well as sampling many of the studios.  Students find their creative passion for a particular field of study and can apply to the two-year diploma program in Ceramics, Digital Media, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Jewellery/Metal Arts, Photography, and Textile Design. Students can also apply to the Aboriginal Visual Arts diploma program, which focuses on traditional craft of the Wolastoqey, Mi’kmaq and Passamaquoddy peoples of the Atlantic Region.  Graduates of the college and other institutions can apply for the one-year Graduate Studies program in which they develop and implement a professional career plan in the visual arts. Students may also complete a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree through the University of New Brunswick, and many graduates have gone on to higher education around the world.

Students and faculty regularly receive provincial, national and international acclaim, and a recent satisfaction and retention survey of graduates showed 94% satisfaction, and 93% willingness to recommend NBCCD to a friend.

The College offers small class sizes, hands-on experiential learning, instructors who are professionals in their disciplines, and excellent student services, including student counselling and support services for everything from academics to accessibility.  The community is a small, caring and dedicated group, and the personal and professional bonds last well beyond the time students spend at NBCCD.

Beyond their core skills, graduates possess tangible and transferable skills - creativity, innovation, collaboration, resiliency and adaptability - that are universally recognized assets needed in today’s growing creative economy.

Join a community of creative thinkers, cultural leaders and innovators of the future.  At NBCCD your future is in your hands.
